Terms of Service

1. What Sentry is
Sentry is an experimental, AI-assisted safety monitoring tool that analyzes images and audio captured by webcams in your browser and surfaces possible hazards. It is not a security guard, an alarm system, a CCTV replacement, or an emergency service.
2. As-is, no warranty
Sentry is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, without any warranty of accuracy, reliability, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or continuous availability. Detection accuracy varies significantly with camera placement, lighting, distance, motion, audio environment, network conditions, the underlying AI model, and many other factors outside our control.
3. False positives and false negatives are expected
AI makes mistakes. Sentry will sometimes flag harmless activity as a hazard (false positive) and will sometimes fail to detect a real hazard (false negative). You are responsible for verifying every alert before acting on it and for maintaining your own primary safety procedures regardless of what Sentry does or does not detect.
4. Not for emergencies
Sentry does not contact police, fire, medical, or any other emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number directly. Do not rely on Sentry as your only safety system.
5. Your responsibilities
- Comply with all applicable laws, including notice and consent requirements for video and audio recording in your jurisdiction.
- Inform people in the camera's view that recording and AI analysis is taking place.
- Place cameras only where you have the legal right to record.
- Promptly review alerts and decide whether action is required.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sentry and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, Sentry — including, without limitation, damages from false positives, false negatives, missed detections, delayed alerts, downtime, data loss, or decisions you make based on Sentry output.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use Sentry to harass, stalk, discriminate against, or unlawfully surveil any person. You may not use Sentry to identify individuals without their consent where the law requires it.
8. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use means you accept the changes.
By using Sentry you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms.
